MAKING Coffee MOVES IN TOKYO. FIRST STOP. RYOGUKU. MAKING Coffee MOVES IN TOKYO. FIRST STOP. RYOGUKU.

In Australia, no-one is disputing how strong the specialty coffee community is - from our long list of barista champs, and the Aussie export, the Flat White. But over the Pacific Ocean, Japan is punching above its weight as well. Tokyo was recently voted World's Second Best Coffee City by a global panel at Food and Wine. It's steeped in coffee history and craft + coffee gear businesses from Kinto to Hario.

ROASTING IN JAPAN FOR A DECADE

After 10 years of chipping away batch by batch in a small laneway roastery, building our coffee community, we're excited to be making some serious moves in Tokyo. Up first? The biggest of them all. We’re moving the Roastworks round the corner in Ryoguku. A new home for nudging specialty coffee forward– more roasting, more training and most importantly, more coffee.

TOKYO TREATS, TOURS & SPECIALTY COFFEE

Pop by for a Res flattie, Batch on Tap, a peep at our probeat UG22 and a little coffee roastworks tour (on Saturday’s only).  Stay for the menu – featuring some Single O classics like our Banana Bread with Espresso Butter, Avo Show and some twists on familiar favourites include Boris’ Beans (Turkish inspired bean stew, tomato, chilli oil and labne) and Reservoir Dog (Tesio Sausage, caramelized onion, tomato sauce).

ORIGINAL CHARM MEETS DESIGN EDGE IN OUR NEW CAFE IN TOKYO

Big ups to our Sydney mates over at Luchetti Krelle – the brains behind the design. Weaving Single O energy and sustainable touches into the original charm of the corner warehouse. We reckon it’s neat.

More moves to come soon (watch out West Tokyo).
