FAQs

SHIPPING & PAYMENT FAQs

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major cards - Amex holders rejoice!

How long will my coffee take to get to me?

*Note: Due to a high volume of orders, please allow 1-2 additional days for your order to arrive. Thanks!

Australia Post aims for delivery within 3 working days for Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne metro. See average delivery times here, and use tracking to keep a close eye on your delivery too - you’ll be emailed tracking details when your order dispatches.

Outside of those metro areas, you'll see longer lead times. The good news is, coffee needs to rest a minimum of 2-3 days (& preferably up to 5-7 days) after roast to allow gases to escape the bean. So don't worry if you're looking at a 5 day delivery timeframe - that just means the coffee will be ready to go when it arrives.

If you need it quicker, we offer a Star Track premium service too. Make your choice at checkout. Please note - Star Track does not deliver to PO Boxes.

If you're somewhere particularly hard to reach - say, Norfolk Island - we strongly recommend that you select Star Track. That's because AusPost can't reach you in less than a week and we want to make sure you get your coffee sooner!

What if I’m not at home to receive my delivery?

If you'd like to activate authority to leave unattended, please say so in the comment section when you place your order. Otherwise, you can collect from your local Post Office after an attempted delivery at your convenience.

OTHER FAQs

How should I store my coffee?

Treat your coffee like a fresh product – buy small amounts frequently. Keep it airtight in the pantry or cupboard (not the fridge!) and try to avoid exposure to heat, light, moisture and oxygen. This will give you the best shelf life and optimum taste.

How long will my coffee last?

Your beans are ideal within 3 weeks from roast. There are exceptions to the rules and rules to the exceptions, but this is the general go. Note this doesn’t include ground coffee, which is ideal for a mere 3 minutes.

Is there any such thing as too fresh?

Wait 2-3 days from roast, minimum, particularly if using an espresso machine. The volatile gases need to escape from the roasted beans for a day or two. (And you’ll have a less bubbly espresso pour).

Can I use my coffee in any brewing device?

If it has been ground for one particular brewing device, don’t go changin’. Grind coarseness varies for each apparatus and there’s nothing interchangeable about it. If you have beans and you want to run some through, say, your V60, and some through your espresso machine, that’s fine, so long as you haven’t selected ‘filter roast’ when purchasing.

Do you supply cafe XYZ here, or cafe ABC there, ...

We have a stellar bunch of cafes that we’re the proud coffee supplier for, and you’ll know them if they say ‘Single O’ on the menu or perhaps on our ‘OFile’ coffee card by the machine. If XYZ or ABC is saying ‘single origin’, it most likely means they’re showcasing an unblended coffee from one growing region. (Referring to a coffee type, not a brand.)

Why are some cafes here using those automatic filter machines like in the U.S. for crying out loud?

C’mon now, they’ve just copped a rap because they’ve been used incorrectly - most often the coffee was heating for too long and the brew never stood a chance due to poor coffee quality and an unflattering roast. However, many local cafes now serve delicious drip filter, brewed with great beans to correct specs. Try one!
