An old-stock bourbon beauty! Las Mercedes was planted by producer Francisco’s grandmother in 1860, with bourbon variety, like most Central America coffee farms at that time. Come the 1970’s & 80’s, many producers across the continent replanted with higher yielding, more disease resistant varieties, but El Salvador was in cival war so farms like Las Mercedes remained planted with their original bourbon. They became renowned for quality but remained vulnerable to disease & were hit hard by the Coffee Leaf Rust outbreak of 2012. Like many El Salvador farms, however, they’re now back stronger than ever. Raise a cup to that!

FAM roast (Our acronym thingy for ‘For All Methods’) is how we roll, meaning you can use any coffee from Single O for any brewing method, ranging from your filter through to your espresso, unless from time to time when we recommend something specifically for espresso only or for filter only, and we’ll let you know.
